What it is
The Ideal 172893 is a right-hand side panel for the casing assembly on Ideal Commercial Buccaneer GTE and GTE5 boilers. It forms the outer right-hand face of the appliance casing, closing off the five-section heat exchanger and burner area from the surrounding plant room. As a casing component it is a structural and protective part rather than a gas-carrying one.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Impact damage, dents or creasing across the panel face, common where panels are removed and stored during servicing
- Corrosion or rust staining along the lower edge or around the fixing points
- Panel no longer sits flush against the frame, leaving gaps in the casing
- Fixing holes elongated or torn, so the panel cannot be secured properly
- Heat discolouration or paint flaking on the inner face
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list, as casing panels differ between GTE and GTE5 variants and between left- and right-hand sides
- Check the existing panel for the previous number 85758807, which identifies the same part
- Inspect the casing fixings and any seals or gaskets at the panel joint and order replacements if they are perished or missing
