What it is
The Ideal 172675 is a gas valve used on Ideal Commercial Imax boilers. It controls the flow of gas into the appliance: when the printed circuit board calls for more gas at the burner, the valve opens and gas passes through to the pilot assembly or the burner. It is a gas-carrying component and sits within the combustion control chain of the boiler.

- The boiler fails to light, or lights and then drops out shortly afterwards
- Repeated lockouts with no gas reaching the pilot assembly or burner
- The PCB reports a gas valve or ignition fault
- Flame is intermittent or unstable while the boiler is running
