What it is

The Ideal 172669 is a panel-mounted pressure gauge used across the Ideal Commercial Imax range. It displays the water pressure inside the heating circuit so the engineer or operator can confirm the system is filled and holding pressure correctly. The gauge is a direct replacement for the original item fitted to W45, W60, W80 and propane (P) variants.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The needle sits away from zero with the system cold and correctly charged, or fails to move as pressure changes.
  • The pointer sticks, jumps or gives a reading that does not match a trusted gauge on the same circuit.
  • Condensation, discolouration or water is visible behind the lens.
  • The gauge weeps or drips at its connection to the boiler pipework.
  • Pressure readings drift between services, making it difficult to set the correct cold fill pressure.

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and, where shown on the data badge, the GC number against the compatibility list.
  • Check the existing gauge against the alternative number 1178995 to be sure the correct item is being replaced.
  • Inspect the sealing washer or connection at the gauge tail and replace it if it is compressed or perished.
  • Isolate and drain the relevant section of the heating circuit before removing the old gauge.
