What it is

The Ideal 172650 is a burner gasket for Ideal Commercial appliances in the Imax W80 and W80P ranges. It fits between the burner and its mounting face, sealing the joint so combustion products stay within the heat exchanger path and air does not leak into the burner chamber. It is a service item, renewed whenever the burner is removed for inspection, cleaning or repair.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Cracking, hardening or flattening of the gasket material
  • Soot deposits or staining around the burner mounting face
  • Combustion readings drifting or CO levels rising after burner work
  • A smell of combustion products close to the burner housing
  • The gasket breaking up or sticking to the joint when the burner is withdrawn

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list, as the W80 and W80P propane versions are listed separately
  • Check the number marked on the existing gasket, as alternative number 1178977 may appear on older stock
  • Fit a new gasket whenever the burner joint is disturbed, rather than reusing the old one
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
