What it is
The Ideal gas valve 172611 is a replacement gas valve used on Ideal Mini and Europa appliances. It controls the passage of gas into the appliance, opening only when the printed circuit board (PCB) sends a signal calling for gas at the burner. Depending on the appliance model, the valve feeds either the main burner or the pilot assembly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to ignite, or lights briefly and then goes out
- No gas reaches the burner even though there is a call for heat
- Repeated lockouts or ignition fault codes on the appliance display
- The pilot or burner flame will not establish or hold
- The valve does not open when the PCB signals for gas
