What it is

The Ideal Mini printed circuit board is the control board that governs the running of the appliance. It reads inputs from switches, thermostats and sensors around the boiler and uses them to manage ignition, firing and modulation. It also carries the safety logic, shutting the boiler down when internal readings point to a fault such as overpressure or a low water level.

This board is supplied by Ideal for the Mini and Europa ranges and is identified by part number 172561.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler locks out repeatedly and will not reset, or resets only to fail again shortly after.
  • No heating or hot water despite the appliance appearing to power up.
  • Fault codes or lockout indications that point to a control or sensing fault rather than a component in the water or gas circuit.
  • Intermittent running, with the boiler firing and then dropping out without an obvious external cause.
  • Visible damage on the board itself, such as discoloured tracks, scorching or swollen components.

Before you order

  • Check the GC number and model plate on the appliance against the compatibility list to confirm the board is correct for your boiler.
  • Note the alternative and previous part numbers listed below, as older boards may carry a different number on the label.
  • Inspect the board connector plugs and loom for corrosion or heat damage before fitting a replacement, as these can cause the same symptoms.
  • Work on the appliance should be carried out by a competent person, with the boiler isolated from the electrical supply before the board is removed.
