What it is

The insulation retaining angle is a shaped metal section used to hold the appliance's insulation panels in position against the casing and heat exchanger surfaces. It is manufactured by Ideal for the Commercial Concord range and is supplied under part number 172313. The angle keeps the insulation seated correctly so that the panels do not sag, shift or drop out of place during service and normal operation.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Insulation panels are loose, sagging or no longer held tight against the casing
  • The angle is bent, distorted or has lost its original profile during handling or servicing
  • Visible corrosion, scaling or thinning of the metal along the retaining edge
  • Insulation has dropped out of position, leaving exposed surfaces inside the combustion or heat exchanger area
  • The angle no longer clips or seats correctly when the casing is refitted

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and, where available, the serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
  • Check the previous number 8358-8210 against the part you are removing, as the same angle may be listed under either reference
  • Inspect the insulation panels at the same time; if they are cracked, damp or crumbling they will need replacing alongside the retaining angle
