What it is
The Ideal 172270 is an ignitor harness used on Ideal Commercial Concord ES series boilers. It is the wiring assembly that carries the ignition supply from the control to the ignitor electrode, so the burner can be lit on a call for heat. The harness is supplied as a complete lead with the terminations already fitted, ready to route and connect.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler attempts to fire but there is no spark at the burner
- Repeated lockouts on ignition, clearing only temporarily after a reset
- Visible damage to the lead: cracked or brittle insulation, scorching, or exposed conductor
- Loose or corroded terminals at the ignitor or control end of the harness
- Ignition that becomes intermittent as the appliance warms up
