What it is
This is the burner support insulation supplied by Ideal for its Commercial Concord range. It sits at the burner mounting point and shields the surrounding casing and support structure from the heat radiated by the burner assembly during operation. Over time the material degrades, so it is treated as a serviceable item rather than a permanent fixture.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, crumbling or flaking of the insulation material around the burner support
- Discolouration or charring beyond the normal heat staining expected at the burner mounting point
- Insulation breaking away from the support so it no longer sits flat against the casing
- Heat damage or scorching on adjacent panels and fixings that the insulation should be shielding
