Ideal Sealing Washer 62mm x 46mm x 2mm 172226

The Ideal 172226 is a flat sealing washer with a 62mm outer diameter, a 46mm inner diameter and a 2mm thickness. It is fitted in Ideal Commercial Concord ES380/H CPT and ESi 380 CPT appliances, where it is compressed between two mating faces to close off a water-carrying joint. The washer forms the soft, deformable layer in that joint, so the metal faces around it do not have to seal against each other directly.

• Water weeping or tracking from the joint the washer sits in
• Chalky white or rusty mineral staining around the mating faces
• The washer feels hard, flattened or brittle rather than pliable
• A visible split, nick or flattened section on the sealing face
• A drip that returns shortly after the joint has been tightened down

• Confirm the appliance model and, where available, the serial number against the compatibility list
• Check the joint you are working on takes a 62mm x 46mm x 2mm washer, as similar sizes are used elsewhere on the range
• Note the alternative part number 1178609 when cross-referencing older documentation or stock records
• Inspect the mating faces for scoring or corrosion before fitting, as a damaged face will not seal even with a new washer
