What it is

The Ideal 172217 is a complete gas train assembly supplied for Ideal Commercial Concord series appliances. It forms the gas-carrying path between the appliance inlet and the burner, housing the components that control and regulate gas flow during ignition and running.

This is a factory assembly rather than a single valve or fitting, so it is replaced as one unit when the gas train itself is at fault. It is listed against the Concord ES340/H and ESi 340 commercial models.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The burner fails to light, or lights and then drops out shortly after ignition.
  • The appliance locks out repeatedly on an ignition or flame supervision fault.
  • Gas flow at the burner is weak, uneven or intermittent once the appliance is running.
  • The gas train shows signs of internal contamination, debris or component wear found during servicing.
  • A gas soundness or pressure test points to a fault within the gas train rather than the supply pipework.

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and, where available, the GC number against the compatibility list before ordering.
  • Check the number on the existing gas train: 8358-8703 and 1178600 both identify this assembly.
  • Inspect the joint seals and gaskets on removal and replace any that are disturbed during the swap.
