What it is
The Ideal 172203 is a control box harness — the wiring loom that links the appliance's control box to the rest of the boiler's electrical components. It is supplied by Ideal for the Commercial Concord range and carries the connections between the control PCB, switches, sensors and actuators. The harness is a direct replacement for the factory-fitted item.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The control box loses power or the appliance stops responding to the controls
- Intermittent faults that change when the harness or its connectors are disturbed
- Visible damage to the loom, such as chafed, brittle or heat-affected insulation
- Corroded, loose or discoloured pins at the control box plug
- Repeated lockouts or error codes traced back to the control circuit
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering.
- Check the existing harness for the previous number 8358-4904 to confirm it is the same item.
- Inspect the control box connectors for damage, as a worn plug may need attention alongside the harness.
