What it is
The Ideal 172190 is the top insulation panel used on Ideal Commercial Concord boiler casings. It sits above the heat exchanger and flueways, reducing heat loss through the top of the appliance and keeping casing surface temperatures within normal limits. The panel is a serviceable item and is replaced when the original insulation has broken down, become brittle or been disturbed during work on the boiler.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Insulation panel is crumbling, flaking or has lost its shape when the casing is opened
- Visible scorching, discolouration or heat damage to the top panel or surrounding casing
- Higher than expected surface temperature at the top of the boiler casing
- Panel has been displaced or torn during previous servicing or component replacement
- Insulation material has become compressed or detached from its backing
