The Ideal 172184 is a left hand side insulation panel used on Ideal Commercial Concord boiler casings. It sits against the inner face of the left hand casing panel and reduces heat transfer from the appliance body to the outer case. Keeping this insulation in good order helps hold casing surface temperatures down and protects nearby components from prolonged heat exposure.
