What it is
The Ideal 172182 is the right-hand side insulation panel for Ideal Commercial Concord ES series boilers. It is a shaped thermal insulation board that sits against the inner face of the right-hand casing panel, reducing heat loss from the combustion and heat exchanger area and keeping the outer casing within safe surface temperatures. The panel is supplied as a single right-hand section and is matched to the internal profile of the Concord ES range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The insulation board is crumbling, flaking or breaking up when the casing is removed.
- Visible scorching, discolouration or damp staining on the panel or the casing behind it.
- The right-hand casing panel feels noticeably hotter than the rest of the boiler during operation.
- Water damage or condensation has softened the board, leaving it compressed or misshapen.
- The panel no longer sits flush against the casing, leaving gaps where heat can escape.

- Confirm your boiler model against the compatibility list, as the Concord ES range uses different insulation sections for different sides and sizes.
- Check the previous number 8358-4033 on the old panel or in the manual, as this part replaces that reference.
- Inspect the left-hand and rear insulation panels at the same time; if one board has degraded, the others are often in a similar condition.
