What it is
The rear body insulation is a moulded thermal panel fitted to the rear body of Ideal Commercial Concord appliances. Ideal supplies it as a direct replacement for the original panel, where it forms a barrier between the hot rear body and the outer casing. Its job is to hold heat inside the appliance, keep casing surface temperatures down and reduce standing losses from the rear of the unit.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The insulation panel is cracked, crumbling or breaking up
- The panel has come away from the rear body or is missing altogether
- The surface is discoloured, scorched or heavily compressed
- Casing temperatures at the rear of the appliance are noticeably higher than usual
- Damp or condensation is collecting around the rear body area
