What it is
This is a side insulation panel for the combustion chamber, supplied by Ideal as part 172127. It lines the inner face of the combustion chamber on the affected appliance, holding heat inside the combustion zone and shielding the surrounding casing and chassis from sustained high temperatures. - Discolouration or scorching of the panel surface after prolonged heat exposure
- Insulation material breaking away and dropping into the combustion chamber
- Localised hot spots or heat damage on the appliance casing near the chamber
- Panel no longer sitting flush against the chamber wall, leaving an exposed metal face
