What it is

The Ideal 172077 is the upper rear crossbar used in the casing assembly of Ideal Commercial Concord appliances. It forms part of the outer casing framework at the rear of the unit, bracing the upper section so the casing panels sit square and secure. As a structural casing component it is matched to the Concord shell, so the fixing points and profile line up with the original build.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The rear casing panel no longer sits flush or square at the top of the appliance.
  • Visible distortion, bending or corrosion along the crossbar.
  • Casing panels rattle or flex because the upper rear fixing points have lost their rigidity.
  • Fixing holes are elongated, cracked or stripped so screws will not hold.
  • The crossbar has been damaged during servicing or panel removal and cannot be straightened.

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list, as the Concord range uses several casing variants.
  • Check the existing crossbar against the previous number 8358-8053 and the alternative number 1178462 to be sure the correct item is being replaced.
  • Inspect the surrounding casing fixings and seals while the rear panel is off, and replace any that are worn.
