What it is
The Ideal 172043 is a complete left-hand side section for the sectional heat exchanger used in Ideal Commercial Concord appliances. It forms part of the heat exchanger body, the component that transfers heat from the combustion gases into the system water. The section is supplied as a complete assembly for the left-hand side of the heat exchanger stack.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the section face or the joint between sections
- Visible corrosion, pitting or heavy scale build-up on the section
- Repeated gasket failure at the section joint
- Reduced heat output, with the appliance struggling to reach or hold temperature
- Overheating or lockout traced to poor heat transfer through the heat exchanger
