What it is
The Ideal thermostat and harness kit is a control assembly supplied for boilers in the Ideal Classic FF range. The thermostat is the device that lets the user set and change the temperature of the central heating system, working with the boiler's control circuit to bring the burner on and off as demand changes. The kit pairs the thermostat with its wiring harness so the control can be connected to the appliance as a complete unit.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler does not respond when the thermostat is turned up or down
- Room temperature drifts away from the setting, with the heating running constantly or not at all
- The appliance fails to fire on a call for heat from the control
- Temperature control feels loose, stiff or fails to click through its range
- Visible damage, scorching or a poor connection at the harness plug or terminals
