What it is

The Ideal pressure sensing pipe kit (part 171468) is a silicone tube set used to carry pressure signals within the boiler's air, flue and combustion monitoring circuit. It is produced for Ideal and specified across the British/Scottish Gas, Classic, Elan 2, Henrad, Mexico and Optia boiler families. The tubes link the sensing points to the pressure switch or sensing device, allowing the appliance to confirm correct fan and flue operation before it permits ignition.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The pressure switch fails to prove fan or flue operation, giving lockout or ignition faults.
  • Visible splits, cracks or hardening along the silicone tubing.
  • Tube ends loose, kinked or pulled away from their spigots.
  • Intermittent fault codes linked to pressure or airflow sensing.
  • Condensate, debris or discolouration inside the tube bore.
