What it is
The 171461 is Ideal Boilers' Sifan WFFB0221-039 fan assembly, fitted to a range of older Ideal Classic-family appliances. The fan draws in fresh air for the combustion chamber and expels the burnt flue gases; the boiler's safety system prevents the burner firing if the fan is not proven to be running correctly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out on ignition with no fan running
- Fan runs continuously or fails to reach speed
- Unusual grinding or rattling noise from the fan on start-up
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance GC number against the fitment list, as several fan variants were used across the Classic range
- Fitting and commissioning must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer
