What it is
The Ideal 171255 is a strap supplied as part of the brackets and clamps range for Ideal commercial heating appliances. It is used to secure and hold components in position within the appliance assembly, keeping panels, pipework or internal parts steady once fitted. The strap is listed against Ideal Commercial Viscount GTE and other Ideal Commercial models, so it is a service item for engineers working on larger commercial plant rather than domestic wall-hung boilers.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The strap is visibly corroded, cracked or deformed
- The component it holds has worked loose and moves under vibration
- Fixing points or the strap body show wear where it contacts the appliance
- The strap has been removed during earlier work and cannot be refitted securely
- Panels or internal parts no longer sit square or rattle in service
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Check the previous number 95320780 if you are matching an older parts record
- Inspect any gasket, seal or fixing that sits alongside the strap and order it separately if it is worn
