What it is
The Ideal 171238 is a casing assembly supplied as a long central upper plate. It forms part of the outer casing on Ideal Commercial appliances, sitting centrally across the upper section of the unit. Its role is to close off and protect the internal components beneath it while maintaining the appliance's casing profile.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Corrosion, rust staining or flaking paint across the plate surface
- Cracks, splits or distortion in the panel
- Heat discolouration or blistering of the finish
- Damaged or elongated fixing holes, giving a loose or rattling fit
- Visible gaps or misalignment where the plate meets the surrounding casing
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Check the number stamped or printed on the existing panel, as earlier builds may carry 85558075
- Inspect the casing seals and fixings while the panel is removed and renew any that are perished or missing
- Casing panels contribute to the appliance's room-sealed arrangement, so refit and check the panel correctly
