What it is
The Ideal 171203 is a 2275 long rail supplied as part of the casing assembly for Ideal Commercial appliances. It is the rail section that supports and locates the outer casing panels on the Viscount GTE and Nuway ranges, keeping the panels aligned and held square against the chassis. The rail is listed under Ideal part number 171203 and carries the alternative number 85558017.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The casing panel no longer sits flush or square against the appliance chassis.
- Visible corrosion, pitting or thinning along the length of the rail.
- The rail is bent or distorted, so panels will not clip or fasten correctly.
- Casing panels rattle or vibrate in service because the rail no longer holds them.
- Damage found during a service or casing removal where the rail has been over-stressed.
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list, as the rail is shared across several Viscount GTE and Nuway variants.
- Check the number on the existing rail or casing against 171203 and 85558017 before ordering.
- Inspect the casing fixings and any seals or gaskets disturbed during removal, and replace them if they are perished or missing.
