What it is
The Ideal 171198 is a casing assembly supplied as a 1675 mm long rail. It is manufactured by Ideal for use on Ideal Commercial appliances, where it forms part of the outer casing that encloses and protects the internal components of the unit. The rail is a structural casing element, so it is replaced when the original has been damaged, distorted or corroded.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible corrosion, rust staining or pitting along the length of the rail
- The rail is bent, kinked or distorted so the casing panels no longer sit square
- Casing panels fail to seat or line up correctly against the appliance frame
- Fixing points, holes or edges are worn, cracked or elongated
- Impact damage from handling, servicing or installation work
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and, where available, the GC number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Check the existing rail length and fixing arrangement match the 1675 mm rail supplied under part number 171198
- Note the previous part number 85558012 when cross-referencing older documentation or parts lists
- Inspect any casing seals or fixings removed during the job and replace them if they are perished or missing
