Ideal Cover Insulation 16-17 Section 171188

The Ideal 171188 is a cover insulation panel for Ideal Commercial boilers built with a 16-17 section heat exchanger assembly. It is fitted over the sectional cast iron heat exchanger to hold heat inside the boiler and reduce the amount lost through the casing and jacket.

Insulation of this type also keeps external casing surfaces at a safer working temperature and helps the appliance hold its rated efficiency. The panel is shaped to the section profile, so it seats directly onto the 16-17 section build without trimming.

• Cracking, crumbling or delamination visible on the insulation surface
• Boiler casing or jacket running noticeably hotter than normal in service
• Insulation panels loose, sagging or displaced from the heat exchanger
• Fibrous material breaking away when the covers are handled during a service
• Measured heat loss around the section covers with a fall in appliance efficiency

• Confirm the boiler is a 16-17 section build, as the panel is sized to that section count.
• Check the previous number 85555535 against the old panel when replacing older stock.
• Have the appliance model and serial number to hand when working through the compatibility list.
