Ideal Flow Switch 19 Section 171161

The Ideal 171161 is a 19-section flow switch used across Ideal Commercial boiler and heater ranges. It monitors water movement through the appliance and sends a flow-proven signal to the control system, so the burner only fires when circulation is established. It is the direct replacement for the original switch fitted to the Viscount GTE family and other Ideal Commercial units.

• The appliance fails to fire or locks out even though the pump is running and circulation is present.
• Ignition is intermittent, with the burner dropping out shortly after start-up.
• No flow signal is registered at the control panel or the appliance reports a circulation fault.
• Overheat or dry-fire faults appear during normal operation.
• The switch body, paddle or terminal connections show damage, scale build-up or water ingress.

• Confirm your appliance model against the compatibility list and check any GC number shown on the data plate.
• Compare the existing switch with the 19-section marking and the number 88024753 before ordering.
• Inspect the housing, seals and connections at the switch position and renew any worn seals while the part is removed.
• Isolate the electrical supply and drain the appliance as required before starting the replacement.
