What it is
The Ideal 171014 seal kit is a case sealing panel seal set used on Ideal boiler heat exchangers. The seals sit at the casing and panel joints, where they stop water and flue gases escaping as they pass through the appliance. It is an Ideal Spares component covering the Elise, Evo, Icos, Isar, Esprit 2, Istor and Classic ranges.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or staining around the heat exchanger casing or sealing panel
- Seal material visibly hardened, flattened, cracked or split
- Flue gas smell or drifting combustion readings near the casing joints
- Repeated pressure loss with no obvious leak elsewhere on the system
- Seal disturbed, pinched or deformed after the casing has been opened for servicing
