Ideal Centre Baffle 170673

The Ideal 170673 is a centre baffle for Ideal Commercial boiler assemblies. It sits within the heat exchanger or flue path of the appliance, where it slows and redirects the passage of hot combustion gases so that more heat is transferred into the water circuit rather than lost up the flue. It is supplied as an Ideal Commercial Boiler Spares component for the Buccaneer range.

• Rising flue gas temperature or reduced heat output for the same burner setting, suggesting gases are bypassing the heat transfer surfaces
• Visible distortion, corrosion, cracking or heavy soot build-up on the baffle when the heat exchanger is inspected
• Rattling or vibration from the flue or heat exchanger area where a baffle has worked loose from its location
• Combustion readings that drift outside the expected range and cannot be corrected by normal servicing
• Soot or debris found downstream of the baffle position during a routine strip-down

• Confirm the appliance model and, where available, the GC number against the compatibility list before ordering
• Check the existing baffle position and quantity, as more than one baffle may be fitted in the same heat exchanger assembly
