What it is
The Ideal 170420 is a right hand lower rear casing assembly, the outer panel that closes off the lower rear section of the appliance casing. It is manufactured by Ideal for the Ideal Commercial range and forms part of the boiler's outer shell, protecting the internal components at the rear of the unit and keeping the casing line complete.
As a structural casing part it is matched to the specific chassis of the appliances it serves, so the fixing points, panel profile and cut-outs line up with the lower rear frame.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible corrosion, rust staining or blistering of the panel surface
- Dents, creases or distortion that stop the panel sitting flush against the frame
- Panel fixings no longer holding, or screw holes elongated and torn
- Water tracking or staining behind the panel suggesting a leak above it
- Panel removed during servicing and found to be beyond reuse
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Compare the part number on the existing panel with 170420 and the previous number 82598022
- Check the panel position carefully - this is the right hand lower rear section, not the upper or left hand equivalent
