What it is
The Ideal 170347 is a complete upper cross bar forming part of the casing assembly on Ideal Commercial appliances. It sits across the top of the casing frame, holding the outer panels in alignment and giving the casing its structural shape. The part is supplied as a complete assembly rather than a bare section, so it can be fitted as a direct replacement for the original cross member.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible corrosion or surface rust along the length of the cross bar
- Cracks, fractures or splitting in the metalwork
- Casing panels no longer sitting square or lining up correctly
- Distortion of the bar after impact or localised overheating
- Elongated, stripped or broken fixing points where the bar mounts to the casing
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Compare the existing cross bar against the alternative numbers 1177560 and 82298837
- Inspect the casing fixings and any seals for wear while the casing is open
