What it is

The upper front burner panel is a casing assembly supplied by Ideal for its commercial boiler range. It forms the upper front section of the appliance casing, closing off and protecting the burner area while presenting a clean outer face on the boiler.

As a casing component it is a mechanical part rather than a gas-carrying one, so it is replaced when the original panel is damaged, distorted or corroded rather than as part of a combustion fault repair.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible cracking, denting or deformation of the upper front panel
  • Corrosion or rust staining along the panel edges or fixing points
  • Panel no longer sitting flush, with gaps opening up around the burner area
  • Fixing holes elongated or torn, so the panel cannot be secured properly
  • Cosmetic damage noted during a service or landlord safety check

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
  • Cross-check the part number on the existing panel or in the appliance documentation
  • Note the alternative numbers 1177541 and 82291004, which may appear on older paperwork or labels
  • Check whether any gaskets, seals or fixings disturbed during removal also need replacing
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
