What it is
The Ideal 170283 is a cleaning door insulation panel used on Ideal Commercial appliances. It is the heat-resistant insulating layer that sits within the cleaning door or access cover, holding heat inside the combustion area and shielding the surrounding casing and components from radiant heat.
This is a serviceable item rather than a wear-and-tear control, so it is normally replaced during a strip-down, burner clean or door rebuild on the Viceroy GT family.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The insulation surface is cracked, crumbling or breaking away from the door
- Visible heat discolouration, charring or scorching across the panel
- Exposed metal or bare fixings where the insulating layer has eroded
- Localised hot spots, condensation or heat marking on the appliance casing around the cleaning door
- The panel no longer sits flat in the door recess and cannot be refitted securely
