The Ideal 154818 is an electrode supplied for Ideal commercial Concord CXA boilers. It forms part of the ignition and flame-monitoring circuit inside the combustion chamber, where it provides the spark at burner start-up and helps the control board confirm that a flame has been established. • The boiler attempts to light but there is no spark at the burner, or ignition is weak and intermittent.
• The appliance locks out shortly after start-up because no flame signal is detected.
• Repeated lockouts that clear on reset and then return on the next demand for heat.
• The electrode tip is visibly burnt, eroded, sooted or bridged, or the ceramic insulator is cracked or discoloured.
• The electrode lead connection is loose, corroded or heat-damaged at the terminal.
