What it is

The Ideal 154811 is a main burner assembly used in the Concord CXA range of commercial gas boilers. It carries the gas/air mixture to the burner head, where combustion takes place inside the heat exchanger. As a serviceable combustion component it is replaced when the burner surface, ports or mounting face deteriorate.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Flame lifts off the burner head or burns with a yellow, lazy appearance instead of a steady blue flame
  • Sooting or blackening around the burner and heat exchanger, with carbon deposits visible on the burner surface
  • Uneven flame pattern across the burner, with some ports burning and others cold
  • Combustion readings that drift outside the expected CO/CO2 range and cannot be corrected by adjustment
  • Ignition is unreliable or the burner fails to light cleanly across its full length

Before you order

  • Check the appliance GC number and model plate against the compatibility list, as the Concord CXA and CXAP variants use different gas configurations
  • Confirm the number on the existing burner matches 154811 or the alternative number 1177129 before ordering
  • Inspect the burner mounting gasket and seals at the same time, as these are disturbed when the burner is removed
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
