What it is
The Ideal 153438 is an M8 x 440mm assembly rod intended for a four-section boiler. It forms part of the rod and spindle group of components and is used to draw the individual sections of a sectional commercial boiler together and hold them under load once the appliance is assembled.
It is an Ideal part for the Ideal Commercial Falcon GTE family of appliances, including the GTE4 variants supplied with Nuway and Riello burners.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Weeping or damp staining at the joint faces between boiler sections
- Visible corrosion, pitting or scale build-up along the rod
- A rod that has stretched, lost its thread or snapped during stripping or reassembly
- Section joints that will not hold torque, or a boiler that has been disturbed and needs new rods on rebuild
- Water tracking along the rod where it passes through the section casting
