What it is
The Vaillant 151017 is a flow switch supplied in black plastic. It is fitted to older Vaillant gas boilers, including the Combi Compact and Thermo Compact families, where it detects water flow through the appliance and signals the control circuit accordingly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler does not fire when there is a hot water demand
- Hot water delivery is intermittent, cutting in and out during draw-off
- The pump runs but the appliance does not progress to ignition
- The boiler locks out repeatedly on hot water operation
- The switch body is cracked, discoloured or shows signs of water ingress
