What it is
The Vaillant 150243 is an automatic bypass valve with a 3.5m setting, supplied as a complete assembly. It maintains a minimum flow rate through the boiler heat exchanger when system demand falls, protecting the appliance from overheating and excessive temperature differentials. It is used across the Vaillant Thermocompact and Turbomax Plus boiler families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler short-cycling when heating demand is low or TRVs have closed down
- Overheating or high flow/return temperature differential across the boiler
- Audible water noise or vibration through the pipework at low system demand
- The bypass valve failing to open or close, or leaking from the valve body or spindle
- Boiler lockout or overheat trips that recur once system flow is reduced
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and variant against the fit list above
- Check the existing valve setting and pipework arrangement before removal
- Verify the part number 150243 on the existing component or the manufacturer's parts list
- Isolate and drain down as required before fitting

Fitment listings are a guide, not a guarantee. Plant-room assemblies get modified on site more often than not. Send us the GC number off the data badge and a photo of the existing valve and we will confirm before anything is dispatched.
