What it is
The Vaillant 149505 is a valve seat for the gas section of Vaillant appliances. It forms part of the gas valve assembly, where it provides the seating face that the valve closes against to control gas flow. It is used on Vaillant MAG 9/1 OZ and MAG 9/1 XZ boilers.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Gas smell around the valve assembly or appliance casing
- The valve will not shut off cleanly, leaving a residual flow at the burner
- Unstable or erratic flame at the burner that cannot be corrected by adjustment
- Sooting or discolouration around the gas section indicating poor combustion
- Visible wear, pitting or scoring on the seating face when the valve is stripped
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and build year against the rating plate
- Check the part number 149505 against the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance
- Inspect the valve assembly first, as wear may affect other components in the gas section
- Gas-carrying components must be fitted and commissioned by a Gas Safe registered engineer
