What it is
The Vaillant 135729 service cock is a small isolation valve used on Vaillant boiler installations. It sits in the pipework so the water supply to or from the appliance can be shut off without draining the whole system. Vaillant lists it as a service item, so it is the valve an engineer reaches for when work is needed on the water side of the boiler.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping from the valve body, spindle or gland
- The spindle will not turn, or turns without shutting off the flow
- Water continues to pass through the valve when it is fully closed
- Scale or corrosion around the valve connections
- Damp staining or drips on the pipework beneath the valve
Before you order
- Confirm 135729 matches the part number shown in your appliance's manual or parts list
- Check whether a new sealing washer or fibre washer is needed at the connection at the same time
- Inspect the surrounding pipework for corrosion before refitting the valve
