What it is

The Ideal sensing electrode assembly, part number 134727, is a flame sensing electrode used in Ideal Commercial Super Plus and Module Super Plus DBI appliances. It sits in the combustion path and provides the flame rectification signal that the control board reads to confirm a burner flame is established and stable. If that signal is weak or absent, the appliance will not run and will usually lock out.

Ignition and sensing electrodes perform different jobs: the ignition electrode creates the spark, while the sensing electrode monitors the flame once the burner has lit. This assembly is the sensing side of that pair.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance locks out shortly after the burner lights, or fails to prove flame at all.
  • Repeated ignition attempts where the burner lights and then extinguishes.
  • A fault code or lockout pattern pointing to flame loss or no flame signal.
  • The electrode tip is visibly eroded, cracked, distorted or heavily carboned.
  • Intermittent running, with the appliance cutting out part way through a demand.

Before you order

  • Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against 41-415-68 or 41-415-69 before ordering.
  • Compare the existing electrode and its lead and connector against the assembly supplied, as fittings vary across the range.
  • Quote part number 134727 or alternative number 1176269 when checking stock with your merchant.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
