What it is
The Altecnic balancing valve with flow meter is a commissioning component for heating and hot water circuits, used to measure and set the flow rate through a branch or circuit. The integral flow meter allows the flow to be read directly at the valve while it is being adjusted. It covers a flow range of 10 to 40 litres per minute.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The flow meter gives no reading or an erratic reading when the valve is adjusted
- Circuit flow cannot be balanced to the design rate within the valve's range
- Water weeps from the valve spindle or the meter connection
- The adjusting mechanism is seized, stiff or will not hold its setting
- Persistent noise or vibration at the valve during commissioning
Before you order
- Confirm the required circuit flow falls within the 10 to 40 litres per minute range of this valve
- Check the pipework connection size and thread type against the valve being replaced
- Confirm the valve is being fitted to a compatible Altecnic balancing valve installation
- Have the system design flow rates to hand so the valve can be set correctly after fitting
