What it is
The Altecnic 22mm x 3/4 Press-fit Lever Handle Ball Valve is a quarter-turn isolation valve for heating and plumbing pipework. One end takes 22mm pipe by press-fit, with a 3/4 connection at the other, and the lever handle shows at a glance whether the valve is open or closed. It is fitted to isolate a section of the system so it can be worked on without draining the whole installation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping from the spindle or lever gland
- Drips from the body or connections when the valve is in the closed position
- The lever turns but the valve no longer isolates the pipework
- A stiff or seized lever that will not travel fully between open and closed
