What it is

A pack of 10 gaskets supplied by Vaillant under part number 117396. These seals are used on MAG and MAG Mini water heater appliances, where they form a watertight joint at the connection points they are fitted to. The pack quantity suits engineers servicing more than one appliance or carrying stock for repeat jobs.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Weeping or a visible water trail at the joint the gasket seals
  • The gasket has hardened, flattened or lost its compression set
  • Cracking, splitting or perishing visible on the gasket face
  • Scale or corrosion deposits built up on the sealing surface
  • A joint that continues to seep after being re-tightened

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model against the fit list above
  • Check how many gaskets the job requires against the pack quantity of 10
  • Inspect the mating surfaces for scale or pitting before fitting
  • Have the appliance isolated and drained before starting the work
