What it is
The Vaillant 116696 manifold fan assembly is the combustion air fan and manifold unit used on Vaillant Ecomax PRO and EcoTEC PLUS VU gas boilers. It draws combustion air through the manifold and delivers it to the burner, so the boiler can maintain a stable, correctly proportioned air/gas mixture. The part is supplied as the fan manifold assembly only.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out or fails to fire, with fan-related fault codes showing on the display
- Fan runs noisily, with rumbling, scraping or bearing whine from the fan housing
- Fan does not spin or spins intermittently when the boiler calls for heat
- Flue gas readings or combustion analysis fall outside the expected range
- Visible damage, distortion or contamination around the manifold or fan housing
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and product number against the fitment list above
- Check the existing fan manifold assembly part number before removing it
- Inspect the fan and manifold seating for damage or debris on strip-down
- Confirm whether the fan is supplied separately from the manifold on your appliance variant
