What it is
The Ideal 112426 is a spark generator cover for the CXD piezo ignition assembly. It sits over the spark generator on Ideal Commercial Concord CXA appliances, shielding the ignition unit from dust, moisture and accidental contact while the generator produces the high-voltage spark that lights the burner. The cover is supplied as a single replacement component and is identified on the appliance by the CXD reference.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No spark at the ignition electrode when the appliance calls for heat, with the generator clicking but the burner failing to light.
- Cracks, splits or heat damage to the cover, leaving the generator exposed.
- Moisture or dirt ingress around the spark generator, causing tracking or a weak, intermittent spark.
- Repeated ignition lockouts that clear after the ignition area is cleaned or dried.
- Visible scorching or deformation of the cover where it sits against the generator body.
