What it is

The Ideal ignition electrode 112365 is a spark electrode for Ideal commercial gas boilers in the Concord range. It sits at the burner and produces the spark that begins combustion once the gas valve opens and the fan has proved airflow. It forms part of the Ideal electrodes and ignitions spare range.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler attempts to fire but does not light, then locks out on an ignition fault.
  • No spark is visible at the electrode tip when the appliance goes through its ignition sequence.
  • Repeated lockouts on start-up, or the burner lighting and extinguishing shortly afterwards.
  • A cracked or discoloured ceramic insulator, a bent or eroded electrode tip, or heavy carbon build-up across the electrode.
  • The electrode lead shows signs of arcing or tracking at the terminal.

Before you order

  • Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the list above to confirm the electrode suits your model.
  • Confirm the boiler is a Concord CXC or CXD Series 3 unit, as the electrode is listed against these commercial models.
  • Compare the number on the existing electrode with 112365 and the alternative number 1175612 before fitting.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
