What it is
The Vaillant 104596 is a finned primary heat exchanger with 104 fins, used across Vaillant Thermo Compact, Thermocompact, Turbomax Plus and Turbomax Pro boiler ranges. It transfers heat from the combustion gases into the heating and domestic hot water circuit. The part is supplied as a complete heat exchanger assembly.

- Repeated loss of system pressure with no visible external leak
- Kettling, banging or rumbling noises from the boiler during heating
- Reduced heating or hot water output despite correct burner operation
