What it is
The Vaillant 103430 is an NTC sensor for the domestic hot water (DHW) heat exchanger. It is fitted to Vaillant ecoTEC Pro and ecoTEC Plus boiler families. The sensor monitors the temperature of the DHW heat exchanger and sends a resistance signal back to the boiler's control board.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water temperature fluctuates or runs hot and cold.
- Boiler fails to modulate correctly during a DHW draw-off.
- Sensor resistance readings fall outside the expected range when tested.
- DHW performance drops or the boiler locks out on a hot water demand.
- Diagnostic display shows an implausible DHW temperature reading.
